Our Community Swim Team
Thornhill is a fun and inviting community with activities for all ages. The Tornados, our community swim team, is part of the Greater Charlotte Swim League (GCSL) and competes with other local swim teams each summer. The team provides another opportunity to enjoy our community, for both the swimmers, their parents, and the entire neighborhood!
Our Objectives
To paraphrase our league’s motto, Let the children swim! We strive to provide the encouragement and fellowship to allow each child to grow and enjoy their world. For more information, select the About navigation tab on this screen.
The Tornados began experimenting with this new web site package starting mid 2009. The previous site still exists, to preserve our history, and some of its information is being included in this new site. Some of the remnants of the earlier web site(s) may be accessed from this site, until all older web pages are converted.
Our Web Site
This web site has been designed with a navigation menu, located below the Masthead image. Place your cursor over any entry, and if there are sub menus, a flyout list will appear. For instance, hover over the SwimTeam entry, and you will be presented with additional choices from Calendar to Photos. If your browser does not respond, a hierarchical listing of this site appears on the Site Map web page. In addition, there is additional community information under the Thornhill community navigation element. We have added a mobile web page to assist in getting to the Tornados information from smartphones and tablets.
As we near the end of 2010, our League Rep indicated that he would be developing his own web site in the coming year. The new web site will be thornhillSwimTeam.shutterfly.com.
GCSL
