General Information
Our pool is open from May through September. The pool opens after Mother’s Day and closes during early September. Please check the TCA Pool schedule for specific hours. Please keep in mind that the pool hours are irregular until school ends for the summer, and again when school resumes in the late summer.
The nominal pool hours are Monday through Saturday, 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM, and Sunday, 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM. In July and August, the Monday through Friday opening changes to 10:00 AM. A weekend schedule and abbreviated evening hours are in effect when the CMS school system is in session. Please check the official TCA Pool Schedule (on right Upcoming Events), as the Pool and Pavilion areas may be restricted due to private events, such as the Tornados, TWA, or a private member’s reservation.
Management
Our pool is managed by Carolina Pool Management of Charlotte. Please contact the manager or a lifeguard with any concerns. Please help keep our pool safe by cooperating with the our staff, as well as reporting any unsafe actions immediately. The safety and well being of all guests is our primary concern. While the Thornhill Community Executive Board oversees the pool operation, the specific assignment for oversight is with our Executive Board Vice-President, Elizabeth Johnson. E-mail your suggestions and comments to our Pool Committee, TCA Pool Liaison. (Until a new committee is formed, your mail will be directed to the TCA Executive Board.)
Captial Improvements – 2009
The original Toddler pool was replaced in the Spring 2009 with the new and improved Turtle Bay Toddler pool. In addition, there were numerous annual maintenace items and a few new safety regulations that were implemented.
This year’s maintenance program was implemented by the TCA Pool committee, whom started deliberations on the overall program during the summer of 2008. Our thanks to Elizabeth Johnson, TCA Vice President and Pool Liaison, for the perseverance and hard work needed to complete this work.
