Notice of 2009 Annual Meeting of the Membership

The Annual Meeting of the Membership of the Thornhill Community Association, Inc. will be held at 7:00 p.m. on November 4, 2009 at the Thornhill Pavilion, 6501 Elmstone Drive Charlotte, North Carolina. Notice is also hereby given that the Association Secretary may take an audio recording of the meeting for the purposes of producing the Annual Meeting minutes. No other person may record the proceedings without the affirmative vote of the Members present in person or by proxy.
After the call to order and introductory remarks by the Chair, we will elect the 2010 Board of Directors. All seven (7) Board seats will be filled. Following the closing of the polls, an annual review of 2009 will be provided by officers of the Board. Time permitting, a member (homeowner) forum will be held at the end of the meeting for homeowners who wish to address the Board of Directors or the assembly. A speaker sign-up sheet will be available at check-in.
Information about known candidates for the Board will be circulated the week of October 19, 2009. Nominations will also be taken from the floor on the night of the Annual Meeting. Each candidate will have a three-minute opportunity to introduce him/herself before voting begins.
A 2009 proxy is enclosed for your convenience. If you’re not sure whether you will be able to attend the meeting please complete the 2009 proxy form and return it to Brawley Management (fax: 704-364-5812) or the Association Secretary (via hand delivery to 6705 Elmstone Drive) no later than 7:00 p.m. on November 2, 2009. Proxies received later than this date and time will not be valid for the election per Article 2, Section 8 of the Bylaws of Thornhill Community Association, Inc.
In lieu of a specific designee, you may appoint Board President, P. V. Archer as your proxy. If you submit a proxy or have one on file and then attend the meeting, your proxy will be returned and you can vote in-person.
Please join us, in person or by proxy. All Members of the Association, our homeowners, are encouraged to participate.
